Lunch at Brandini's and a Tour of Liberty Hall Inn in Pendleton SC

Oh, what a wonderful lunch my friend and I had at our first time at Brandini's.  We both ordered the Brandini's Stack and it was delicious.  We enjoyed the staff who were so nice and welcoming and we even got to take a tour of Liberty Hall Inn.  Roger at Southeastern Garden Center has it decorated so beautifully for Christmas.
Brandi Flores makes these Mosaic Tile Pieces herself.  They are so lovely and can be seen throughout the Inn.  Here is one of a table she made:

Whim Wham Vapes Opening in Pendleton SC Saturday December 3, 2011

A Note from Owner Sheila Woods:
E Cigs defined from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "An electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette, is an electrical device that simulates the act of tobacco smoking by producing an inhaled mist bearing the physical sensation, appearance, and often the flavor and nicotine content of inhaled tobacco smoke; though without its odor, and intended to omit its health risks. The device uses heat (or in some cases, ultrasonics) to vaporize a propylene glycol- or glycerin-based liquid solution into an aerosol mist, similar to the way a nebulizer or humidifier vaporizes solutions for inhalation". A person that uses the E Cig is usually refered to as a "vaper.

After 35 years of smoking the traditional tobacco cigarettes, I made the switch to Electronic Cigarettes just this past August, and have never looked back! I am so convinced that the E Cig can and does help people like me to kick the tobacco habit, that I decided to invest and open my own E Cig shop. Some may think that the name I picked is kind of odd, but I chose to name my business “Whim Wham Vapes” because a whim wham is “a whimsical object or device especially of ornament or dress; or fancy object”. I think E Cigs are fanciful, unusual, fantastic and can even sometimes be playful!

Thank you to all who participated and promoted The Hunt For The Ohme Bug

The Hunt For The Ohme Bug was a success as she was hidden 3 times and found 3 times. I hope that she might have stirred a little extra interest in our Pendleton's businesses as I was trying hard to promote them.

Lori Solymosi was the first to find the Ohme Bug and she found her at Colonial Square Antique Mall and won a free lunch at 1826 On The Green. The next time the Ohme Bug was found at The Mercantile by Cissy Hughes and Marsha Campbell and they won a free lunch at The Village Baker. The last time the Ohme Bug was found at Mountain Made by Katy Seaman and Mary Ann Prater and they won a free lunch at Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to everyone who participated and helped to promote this fun little gimmick.

The Ohme Bug has now returned home and has plans to go back into hiding at our local businesses during the month of April 2010. If you want to learn more about The Hunt For The Ohme Bug, please check out this lens on Squidoo.

Antique Shopping in Pendleton SC

Our little town of Pendleton South Carolina is really coming to life with the addition of the new shops in town. We now have 8 Antique Shops plus other quaint shops to make it a fun filled day strolling the green and beyond. I can visualize folks coming to spend the whole day shopping, dining, and touring. There is just so much to see and do. Jean Vegod of Timeless Tours & Travel offers Day Trips that are sure to be pleasing. Anyone interested should call Jean at 864-646-8864.

Antique Shopping in Pendleton SC will be good for all the businesses and good for our town. I visited each of these shops while working on my latest lens and I have to tell you that it is Southern Charm at its best in Pendleton. I had to pull myself away in order to have the time to get to each of the shops to shoot videos and pictures. I could have spent hours in each of them finding treasures from the past.

Pendleton also has 5 Restaurants around our town square which offer delicious lunches for your shopping spree. The new Mexican Restaurant, Vaqueros, is a great addition to our town. We recently had dinner there and I was also there for lunch on their first day to open. Of course, we had been to their other restaurant in Clemson, Fiesta Grill, so already knew that it would be good. I really like the new look and the service was excellent. The Islander Pub & Grille offers some super lunches with my favorite being the Pineapple Chicken Salad. Their sandwiches are also very good. 1826 On The Green does a fine job of being Pendleton's Front Porch. There is nothing like sitting at one of the lovely tables outside and enjoy people watching. Of course, a scrumptious lunch is also available. Pendleton Cafe and Coffees is a real treat as you can enjoy an Art Exhibit and Music at the same time you enjoy a wide assortment of lunch choices. I had lunch with friends this week at the Village Baker and the Quiche was wonderful and the chocolate cake that I had for dessert was to die for. Read more about these restaurants and our other businesses on Pendleton Businesses

Yes, Pendleton is a great place to live and to visit so please come join us to experience Southern Charm At Its Best!

My newest lens Antique Shopping in Pendleton SC is filled with photos and video tours of our 8 Antique Shops:
Avenue of Oaks, Blue Ridge Antiques and Refinishing, Colonial Square Antique Mall, Grandma's Antiques & Things, Mountain Made, Past Times, Pendleton Place Antiques, and Village Station Antiques.

On March 1, 2009 new hours and a new menu was announced for 1826 On The Green At Farmers Hall Restaurant

Chef Lorett Hayes likes to refer to her restaurant as Pendleton's Front Porch and if you have ever enjoyed her delicious cuisine while sitting at one of the outside tables, you know exactly why. Chef Lorett is not only clever but she is an excellent cook and hostess. Your dining experience is very special due to the historic setting and exquisite meal but also because Lorett is so hospitable.

Timeless Tours and Travel in Pendleton SC

Do you belong to a group that enjoys fun day trips? If so Jean Vegod, owner of Timeless Tours and Travel, is the person to talk to. She plans some wonderful trips and goes out of her way to make sure that each person has a great time. Jean describes some of her upcoming trips as:

March 4th - Harrah's in Cherokee again.....by popular demand. The cost is $40 and includes transportation, a very nice buffet lunch, and $5 to get us started at the machines. One of the folks who went last time played the 1 penny machines and won $41!!!

March 28th - A Wine-Tasting Trip going to some wineries that we haven't done before, over in N. Georgia. We will have a tasting, then lunch on our own, then 2 more wineries, the second of which is a private estate and vineyard, where they will do an early dinner for us. The last winery promises to be a real treat; the owners are perfectionists, so I know it will be done well!

Jean says that she is thinking about a trip to Asheville for lunch, & a show. The show will be "My Mother's Jewish, My Father's Italian, and I'm in Therapy."

Jean is now booking long trips as well and has a great one planned for China.
October 29 - November 6, 2009 Trip to China - Only $1899

If you are interested in these trips or want to talk to Jean about booking other trips, please give her a call. Jean can also plan a trip for people wanting to come visit us in Pendleton.

February - Where In Pendleton Is The Ohme Bug?

Do you know what the Ohme Bug is?

The Ohme Bug is going to be hiding in a Pendleton Business during the month of February.

Can you find her? She will be hidden in plain view so you won't have to look behind or under anything.

The first person to find the Ohme Bug will win a gift certificate for lunch at The Village Baker. Now, doesn't that sound exciting. But wait, the winner will also be featured on my Pendleton Businesses Squidoo lens (scroll down webpage).

Rules for the Pendleton Business Ohme Hunt:
- Visit the businesses listed on Pendleton Businesses Squidoo lens. Enjoy your visits and patronize them when possible.
- Find the Ohme Bug which will be hidden in plain view at one of the businesses listed on my Pendleton Businesses Squidoo lens.
- When you find her, give her to the business owner or manager and tell who the Ohme Bug is. Sorry, you can not keep her as she will be hidden again in March if she is found by the end of February.
- The owner will have instructions to call me and I will congratulate you and make arrangements to video or photograph you to be featured on Pendleton Businesses Squidoo lens.

Village Shoppe Closes

The Village Shoppe closed on December 31, 2008.
We will all miss Peggy and her mother on the square and hope they are making plans to return in another capacity. Both have worked hard to help make Pendleton an even better place. Thank you for all you did for Pendleton. You and your shop will be missed.

Christmas Shopping

I did a little bit of Christmas Shopping on the Square today. I started at Village Station Antiques and got three of the cutest Christmas Hand Towels. One of them says "Dear Santa, Define Good", another one says "Free the Reindeer" and the last one says "Dear Santa, Is it too late to be good!". They were $8 each and are well made and very unique. I also got an antique china ring holder for $5 for my daughter in law. I picked up 2 packages of South Carolina Cocktail Napkins at $3.50 each to have on hand for Friendship gifts. I then went to The Village Shop and got some real nice coasters with the South Carolina Palm Tree on them. I picked up some Holiday Tea at Whitworth Trading Co. so I thought I accomplished a good bit considering I am still hobbling around with an injured leg. I treated myself to lunch with my hubby and a friend at the Village Baker and it was delicious. Have you been? If not, you need to check all the shops and restaurants in Pendleton.
